No, you can’t help that. I don’t know, he’s a little too young to be away like that all day. I might just text a friend, we’ll see. How’s work going?
It’s okay. Pretty hard to focus when I’m worried about you. Did you trying calling my brother?
You know what sucks about having a virus? Everything. I’d love someone forever if they could bring tea for me and maybe babysit Luke? I’m afraid he’s going to catch it as well.
I’m sorry I’m stuck on set and can’t help you out. You can drop him off at the set if worst comes to worst.
Do you? Luke needs his Daddy though. Join us in the living room? Lots of cuddles are an option.
Cuddles from my pretty girl and my little guy? How can I say no?
I guess getting out of bed would be a good idea, yeah? I love Sundays. Hope everyone else is having a lovely and relaxing day as well!
I vote for staying in bed all day.
Sam had finally been able to fall asleep a few hours later when Lucas was still getting cleaned up and ready to be brought back in to them. She’d actually woken up a few minutes before the nurse had brought him in but hated to have to wake up again since the quite had felt so nice. She hadn’t been able to actually sleep in a few weeks now. Stretching and putting her arms out in front of her, she yawned and nodded a bit. “I’ll let you two have some time though for a bit longer.” She smiled watching them. It was adorable to see how happy he was now that Luke was with them. She always knew he’d make a great father, how right she’d been.
"How are you feeling, babe?" Aaron kept his voice low. "You know what? You’ve never looked more beautiful than you do right now." He meant it. Her brown hair was messy and she was wearing a ratty t-shirt and sweats but still, she looked incredible. "Motherhood suits you." Aaron stood, carefully supporting Lucas’s neck, and walked to Sam, handing Luke off to her before sitting on the edge of the bed. "Do you want some water or something?"
Sam wiped at her eyes, tears still falling with a mix of happiness and exhaustion as she waited for them to bring Lucas back over to them. “You’re just saying that.” She bit her lip gently, a small yawn escaping her lips as she struggled to keep her eyes open. Once he was brought back over to them, she held him carefully, pride obvious on her face as she watched him sleeping. “He’s too perfect.” She smiled rocking him gently as his eyes slowly opened.
A few hours later, Sam was asleep when the doctors brought Lucas back into their room. Unable to sleep, still running on a high he’d never experienced before, what he assumed was that new father high, Aaron sat up straighter in the chair in the corner and smiled to the nurse as she put his son in his arms. His tiny face, those tiny features, his tiny hands with little blue mittens on them, and swaddled tightly into a blanket. Aaron had never seen anything more beautiful. “Congratulations again, Aaron,” the nurse said softly. “Thank you,” Aaron whispered, his eyes never leaving his son’s perfect face. Sam stirred and her eyes slowly opened as the nurse exited the room. “I think you need to feed him,” Aaron said. “But you can wait for a few minutes if you want.” The truth was, he didn’t want to hand over Lucas…not quite yet.
/ We’ve been waiting so long for a chance to do this plot line! I hope you love it! <3
Yeah, just in the wrong place at the wrong time I guess. Things with Troian are great. We fix things we were having issues with and now we’re just enjoying the time we have together. I can imagine it’s definitely different but it’s gonna be great. You’re a great Dad already, man.
I’m really glad to hear that, brother man. She’s in New York with you? I hope you’re having fun. Don’t rush back to LA, alright? Luke will be here whenever you’re able to get here. haha thanks man, but give it a week and see if he still has all ten fingers.
At the sound of the first cry, Sam allowed herself to finally take a deep breath and felt her tears falling down her cheeks. “Oh god..” She layed her head back against the pillows after finally releasing his hand from the tight grip and sat up as much as she could, ready to get the first glance at their new little boy. “I’m sorry I yelled.” She finally replied, giving a small tired smile once she looked back over at him. “The pain was a lot worse than I’d imagined.” She looked back towards the nurses as they were cleaning him off. “Is he okay? Can I see him?”
Immediately, the nurse took Lucas and turned their backs to both Sam and Aaron as they cleaned him up and did whatever nurses do to newborn babies. “Shh, no need for apologies Sammy. You just had our baby. You could have yell and screamed and broken every bone in my hand and I wouldn’t be able to say a word,” Aaron said quietly, chuckling but his eyes never leaving the nurses’ backs. Lucas continued to cry, a sound that made Aaron smile. Then one nurse turned around, Lucas in her arms wrapped in a blue blanket. She took a step forward and handed Lucas to Sam. Aaron looked down and his wife and son, tears welling in his eyes. God, he cried more in the last nine months than his entire life up till that point combined. “He’s perfect,” he whispered.
New York is…eventful. Just ran into my first drug deal that resulted in me getting a little banged up, but it’s okay. How’s it feel to be a Dad?
Oh, sketch. I’ve lived in the city practically my whole life and never had that happen to me. Lucky guy. haha how are things with you and Troian? Being a dad feels the way you feel after partying for an entire weekend then going to work on Monday morning. But without the booze and loud music.
